The purpose of Bridging the Gap Program is to bridge the gap between A.A. members who go into treatment facilities, hospitals, and correctional facilities, with the first A.A. meetings
patients and inmates go to upon release in the home community.
Members of Alcoholics Anonymous, usually acting in pairs, meet the patients or inmates after release
and accompany them to their first A.A meeting. As in all 12th step work, this activity is strictly
voluntary.
